Refrigerator problems !!!

didn't cool for two days and finally figured it out....

the 2 large bottles COULDN'T be out of propane I said...
but still blinking LP light means "I ain't got no propane" !

so demount both off the 5er,
drag them to the fill place, and the old guy picks one up and says this'ns full !
and dis one is only down say 3 or for gallun I'd say

so I say let's button them up anyway since they are out...

go back to the new rv and as I reach down to pick up that heavy thing, I noticed WAY up in the top of the cavity is the three way regulator/switch that I had been looking for in this new rig

guess before I just happened to turn on the correct bottle as the switch had a right, left, and center position and was turned to the right

My simple brain thought run only one and then when it runs out,
turn on the other bottle and go fill up only one at a time...

but guess I need to figure out what either of the three positions really do...

presume middle is both bottles, right is one, and left is the other.... just need to trace the lines to see which it goes to...

With a standard regulator, putting the switch in the middle shuts off the tanks, or should. Right or left designates tank you are drawing from and should switch automatically when one tank runs out. Here's a link

Thanks for the quick reply - reps your way (if I'm allowed to thank you anymore )
Sorry for the rookie questions as it's been a LONG time since I had my last rv ! (I had downsized to a winnebago LeSharo from class A'a 20 years ago iirc)

your link must be behind a firewall or something as I can't get to it...

but here are some (bad) pics of my 'switch':
to the right is how I found it...
and didn't notice which tank it goes to yet...
is the red on the top a reset or an indicator of some type ?

I guess I should only have the bottle valve open that the dial points to, correct ?
then when that runs out, I switch over..

Someone told me this:
You can tell the level of propane in a tank by pouting warm water down the side of the tank. Feel it and the propane level is where the tank changes from warm to cool.

No firewall. I receive quite a few questions every day and write about the stuff I work on. Nothing for sale on site. No ads. Mobility RV Service or MOBILITYRVSERVICE.NET.

Geez, I should have caught that. I can write HTML.

It should look like this Understanding your propane regulator

And yeah, the hot water trick works. The inside monitor seldom are accurate. You can keep one tank closed or leave em both open. If you have em both open and it switches to the second tank and you don't realize it, you can find yourself without propane.

Sorry,

Steve

I use just one tank at a time mostly so that I know when it is out..unless it is cold outside that is.
