Lightbulb Here's a Deal on 2011 Mirrors!!

I just purchased a set of 2011 mirrors... heated power telescoping, power folding, but no memory. Wiring connector has been cut off due to them being removed from a fleet of 2011 F650/F750 trucks so the larger tow truck mirrors could be installed. BOTH sides included for only $420 with free shipping.

The picture in the ad shows a dirty film on the mirros, so I contacted the seller and he reported back that the mirrors were removed during winter and still had a slight film of dirty road salt, but that the mirrors clean up perfectly. I read through the seller's feedback on eBay and found at least one feedback report from a different buyer who said that the mirrors were like brand new and he was very pleased.

It isn't difficult to either direct wire the mirrors or come up with another connector. I'll also have to purchase and install a couple of switches to control the power telescoping and power folding features. Regardless, these issues are pretty small and inexpensive, so I believe I got a good deal.

For any of you who are interested, the guy still has more pairs for sale (I believe 9 at this point in time). Below is the link to the eBay listing.

Believe me, I debated it for several days myself. It was between a new exhaust or the mirrors, and I only went with the mirrors because I have not been able to find anything on even the Manual mirrors for less than $250 each. These power telescoping/folding units typically run at least $400-$700 each, and they're well over that from a dealer. I only chose to go ahead with the purchase because I didn't think I would come across that kind of discount again for a long time, and I can always wait another 3-4 months for my exhaust which won't really change that much in price in the short term.

GREAT FIND!! Thanks!!

NOW-CAN I buy a FACTORY control switch from a 2011 truck that will control THESE mirrors AND directly replace the switch in my LATE '99??
Wireing shouldn't be too much trouble to me...my truck JUST has the adjustible top glass in the mirrors now nothing else power-BTW-IF I buy these '11s MY nice originals will be for sale and be a nice upgrade for someone with the small flag style mirrors.

Question of the day. I'm still chasing down that detail as well, and plan to visit a local dealer to visually look at the new switch in a truck so I can determine fitment. Another option is to simply install two new switches for the telescoping and folding functions. I posted a write up from archtaan where he did this on a 2008 mirror install.
