Hey Guys, After reading the threads on installing these clips I was wondering if anyone has mounted one but kept the ride height close to or just 1" to 2 " lower. I am going to go to a Coyote crate engine and set it up like my 67 XL but with an automatic. It has been gathering dust in the garage for the last 4 years. Time to re-restore my 68.

You will have to space it up (add to the bottom of your rail).

When I install my CV crossmember I was thinking about cutting a section out of the bottom frame rail, approx. 2 - 4 inches, kinda like a C notch would be for the rear axle/frame clearance, and then adding the same amount to the top of the frame to still bolt it in as the factory intended. This should get me 2-4" lower which is what I want as I want this truck to be lowww. The frame will be boxed and braced accordingly. I then still have the option of using lowering springs if I should want to go even lower. I don't know if anyone has tried this yet but I plan to in 6-8 months.

I have not looked seriously at this option. The main problem you are going to run into is the rear mount for the lower control arm. It lines up right under the front cab mount. If air is an option for you they do make shocks with bags around them that can be used. I have only seen 1 truck with them. It was a crew cab & I do not remember the manufacturer.

Ah, yes, I can see where that may take a little playing with, but hey, just one more hurdle to clear. I still have a bit of time before I get started so will keep the thinking cap on tight
