I will be replacing my front bed panel.
Does anyone know what size rivets were originally used to connect the side panels to the front panel? Or have experience with using riveted bed panel connections? Thank you.
If you plan to re-rivet the front panel back to the bed sides, its best if you have a strong air hammer and the correct anvils to set them. It also helps a lot if you have a not-too-bright buddy (ie; one who won't run out on you holding the tool 'cause its not any fun, btdt) to hold one side. It would be much easier and plenty acceptable to simply bolt it in place.
I already have the bolts as my plan B. I did a little research and learned that a rivet gun looks just like an air chisel but with slower impacting and a "feather trigger." I never drove a solid rivet but thought I would give this a try.
