Motor Craft or HT2?!

I can get a great deal on Autolite HT2 plugs through rock auto, what plug do u suggest?

"Most" will go with what is tried and true: Motorcraft.

Autolite and Motorcraft are the same thing.

This is true. Did a quick search. It looks like the HT2 is a higher heat range then the HT1 and the MC's.

Yes and no. The SP479s I use are nickel plated and the equivelent Autolite has a black finish on it. I prefer the nickel plated MC but the Autolite work fine.


Since the OP has a 3V if it were me I would probably buy the plugs with the one piece end. Pretty sure both the MC and Autolite are still 2 piece.

Looks like the Champions are 1 piece however I do not know how well they perform.

Edit: Found a thread on the Champions. Sounds like they work good. If you plan on keeping the truck long enough to do another plug change it would be worth trying the Champions IMO.

Hmm ok. The champions are pricey, but I'd rather not keep breaking them off in the head cause im sure that's what's gonna happen this time around. Me and my dad are gonna do our V10 plugs at the same time.

Thanks, it's a great read! Sounds like 25 ft lbs is the right torque for my 3v. Still a little unsure on the 2v my dad has.

These champions are gonna break me! Haha
