YO!

New Hampshire Chapter....It's pretty quiet in here !! What's up with that?

So I just dropped my name in on the map of owners for the state chapter. Found that there are a few of you around me.

Anyway, I routinely run into other Ford Diesels on 125, especially around the Lowe's and Walmart area. That seems like an empty statement, but you have to understand 2 years ago I had 6.8L V-10 F-250 extended cab. I liked that truck. Once i got this one I immediately notice the "Driving Habits" of some of my fellow diesel owners! snicker....snicker....

this truck was what I needed to make the next step into getting our Fifth Wheel. But I noticed after getting the truck that there seems to be a bunch of people intimidated, egged on, i don't know what you call it when they run into these trucks.

I know I am not imagining it because it has happened so many times! If it has happened once it has happened a dozen times.

Some yahoo pulls up next to me in some non-descript vehicle, SOB (Some Other Brand), or jalopy and taps thier accelerators, etc.

I ignored it at first. But it was getting to me. The more I thought about it it really bothered me. Who are these people? Do they see one of these trucks and can not resist the urge to want to play with it? WHAT?!

I am driving a Crew Cab long Bed Diesel. I could put half of these peoples vehicles in my bed of my truck for gosh sakes!

My first experience was not long after I bought this truck in 2010, I was exiting off of 95 onto 88 when a white Raptor started with me....

I have even had some guy in a Prius "stomp on it" (can they do that?... hmmm...I digress) while on my right side trying to beat me to the merge, south bound on RT 125 right after Market Basket. Are you freakin' kidding me? A Prius? Really? I got into the throttle. Needless to say he didn't make it....

Now don't misunderstand me. I am not looking to "race" anyone. I take care of my truck, I have an Edge insight but it is left on Stock. I am not looking to do any of this sort of stuff.

But yaknow... when you poke a lion over and over again with a stick, sooner or later he's going to clean your clock.

The most recent "loser" was in a Honda Civic with one of those "great" sounding exhausts.. I have a great sounding exhaust too......

Maybe I am getting a little old for this sort of stuff.......

NAAAA....!!!

If your plate did not say "IMFSTR" than maybe you would not get challenged...

But yes it happens to me also...

I have determined that you have to be an a-hat in order to own a "(insert my specific model)" made by "(insert specific brand)" Every single one of those vehicles I see, the driver, is a total a@@hat and drives as such.

I have noticed that it is happening more and more in general. My mom got in an accident and it was deemed her fault. On RT111 in Windham (near 93 2 lanes into one) a 2000 dodge 1500 sped up to get in front and he scrapped his entire truck on her mirror. Because she was in the lane that ended it was deemed her fault. Never-mind the Dodge tried to force her off the road.

Funny about the plate....Not so funny about the accident... Sheesh!

It's actually been that way for a while now. Almost since I took the CL position.. I must smell funny or something.

It has it's ups and downs earlier but now it's all just downs. I try to organize meets and have poles about what people would like to do but either get no response or response but no one follows through.

Cruises are nice but with gas prices and the economy they are not really a decent event. I had thought about winter beater meets and/or cruises but not everyone has a winter beater and I no longer have mine. (My winter beater now is my 07 Ranger).

The car show season is done with for a few more months. Personally I have become real busy with 2 jobs now just trying to make enough money to pay bills. I have also slacked on trying to come up with ideas for meets for 2 main reasons. My time and the fact that only the same members show up and they live in a different state. Not that I don't like hanging out with them. FYI I have the holiday for one of my jobs and that is why I am able to post right now.

If you (or anyone) has ideas speak up.

I am the Past Commander, and hopefully Commander again for American Legion post 51 in Epping. We started having car shows year before last. We are hoping to have another one again this year with a dinner, band, and dancing in our hall. Big parking lot out side band stand etc...Sound interesting?

Last two were well attended...

I'll throw in a couple of photos...

These are a few examples of the cars we had... Notice the lack of Fords!

We could fix that!

Ok. My bad.
I saw that you had your first post and figured you just joined FTE and not the chapter yet.

Now you have to get to 25 posts so you can get your private massaging (PM) turned on. I randomly send mass PMs out the chapter members about chapter things.
