03EX-V10-Towing the 04 Cobra
Per a discussion in another thread.
Put my "new" 03 EX, V10 to work for its first time (in my family). Took the car hauler and went to pick up a "new to me" 2004 Mustang Cobra.
The EX managed all of about 8MPG towing at 65-70 in some very warm Arizona weather. No problem getting the job done but not very friendly on the gas mileage. Compared to my old 08 F250 SD, the EX got the job done... but it is NOT the beast the diesel was. Also, braking in the EX is not as enjoyable as the SD either. Nonetheless, I declare the EX serviceable and everything went well.
Someone said Pics or it didn't happen....

I had upgraded my front rotors and pads and very quickly found out that the stock rear pads then became the weak link.

I used to own an 03 cobra. Loved that car, a real blast to drive.
Sold it for almost the same as I bought it a few years later.
The sound of that car is the best. Even idling it sounds super.
My very first mod was a shifter.
Are you going to race it ?
I'm in Arizona too.

Did you stay with the stock Calipers?

I am sure it will make it to the 1320' a couple of times but I am not a diehard racer.
I've got to sort through some issues yet. It threw a code last night.... and when I started it this morning it was running rough. Need to get the code reader on it and see what is going on.

Pretty sure this is caused by the Bassani X-pipe/Cats. Will have to shut the second O2 sensors off.
Good news in a round about way.

I got new (reman) stock calipers up front and did not have to replace the rears at all.

8mpg towing a car trailer is not right. I`ve towed a car trailer a couple times an I can get in the double digits (11-12)! I think you may have an issue there. towing my TT I get alomost 7 mpg. and that is double the weight and double the height. actually unless you were towing all uphill towing a car trailer would be very easy to tow behind any vehicle, becuase it is not creating any wind resistance.
