Jim,

This heat is NUTS...at 11pm last night it was still 90°!!!

Last Friday we had a bad line of thunderstorms/wind move through the area with straight line winds...

Knocked power out for over 100,000 people here in the Fort Wayne area.

Fort Wayne airport clocked a 91mph wind gust!

You can read about the wind event...it has a name...called a Derecho Derecho - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ... Fort Wayne is mentioned in that wikipedia link...

We lost power for about 3 hours...not too bad considering folks are STILL without power 6 days later!...We've got crews from Oklahoma, Kentucky and other states here helping restore power...those poor folks are working out in this heat too!

Joe.

We had some thunderstorm cells move thru last night but nowhere like that. Hope they can get power back quick for those in the heat

Dimly lit office, nice cold A/C, comfy desk chair, nobody to tell me to get my feet off the desk... That is the formula for productivity!

He certainly was cooperative for the police. Must be he was tired of the slow speeds

He was very cooperative with police...smiling, joking, etc...

But T_mobile really pissed that guy off over a lack of refund or something I had heard on the news...

Wonder what the UK penalty will be for him?

T-mobile might not even press charges...who knows...

Jim,

Here is another write up on the derecho...notice that that storm traveled over 450 miles in 6 hours giving it an average ground speed of 75mph!!!

Last 3 years they have happened within a month of each other. Not much time to prepare when moving that fast
