Bizarre radius arm bushing problem...

I just got finished replacing all the busings on my '85 F150 4x4. Everything went great, some were pretty nasty and original and were a pain to press out.

The radius arm bushings went great. I actually replaced them about 2 years ago with regular rubber bushings but still had play in the steering. I recently noticed the drivers side radius arm nut would bottom out before the bushing was tight allowing the arm to still move.

When replacing all the chassis bushings recently I used all poly stuff. I changed the radius bushings out to poly as well....but I still have the same issue!

What's the deal? Even with the poly bushings the arm is still loose and pops while driving. I double checked the part #'s and they are correct.

Anybody else have this issue?

Any info is appreciated!

When I had mine replaced the holes were so worn out they had to be welded.

Are you sure you have all the parts in there? There's a plastic ring that goes in there too.

I have the plastic (nylon) ring in there too. The passenger side doesn't move around, just the drivers side.

Thought I'd ask, sometimes parts are forgotten.

Makes me think the mount on the frame is worn out or the rolled edge where the arm passes through is rusted and gone.

Is the diameter of the arm that passed through the bushings good? I've seen plenty that get rusty and lose diameter making them loose in the bushings.

Ill have to take the drivers side apart and check it out. I want to say it looked ok when I had it apart, but it never hurts to check it again.
