i have an 85 f150 i bought off a guy years ago and it has 8 lug axles. i'm trying to figure out what they are and the gear ratio. I popped the rear cover off and the ring says 46-13 so i'm guessing its 3.53 gears? The rear axle has 10 bolts and a 70 welded on the top so i'm guessing its a dana 70? not sure of either because i've never had one before. would the front be a dana 60? it has 8 lugs and king pins. i'm guessing both axles are from the 80's nothing new. thx--Andy
Looks like the 44 and the 60 might be very similar in appearance--I would think the 60 is bigger. You might need a wire brush, a strong light and some good eyeballs to check those numbers. Or the acid the FBI uses to lift ground off numbers on guns....
