Transmission temps. What is normal?

This is frustrating. So, I checked flow. All is good there. I pulled the external filter and ran straight line and also bypassed the stock cooler. Just drove around 35mi on the freeway and it hit 192*. Its 102 degrees outside today.
This is unloaded except for my family.
It feels like I am peeing into the wind.

In regular city driving in Arvada, Lakewood and Westminster, CO, I was seeing 180-190 on my ScanGauge II the last few days. Its been between 95 and 103 here also. I have an F-350 V-10 with a shell and carpet kit in the bed. As far as I know, stock cooler on mine.
Just wondering if this is normal.

I still have the stock cooler and I run about 185*-190* here in southern MS. Temps 95*-100* outside. I do have the bigger 6.0 cooler waiting to be installed though.
One question for Mark, though it might be a hijack. I have an early build 2000 V10 and it doesn't have the lines running through the radiator. Should I do anything else or just add the 6.0 cooler?

The 6.0L cooler will make a big difference. Where it doesn't help a lot is slow speed heavy towing, especially backing. There isn't enough airflow. The engine fan doesn't draw enough air over the trans cooler, either. Having the trans cooler in the radiator really helps in these conditions.

I figured you would weigh in on this thread. As usual, your expertise and knowledge are greatly appreciated!!! Tried to rep you, but can't...

I have the 6.0 cooler on a otherwise stock 7.3 X and can say what Mark says about that there is not enough airflow through the cooler at slower speeds is very true.
I just made a trip from MO to Grand Lake, Co down I-70, then up US40 through the Berthound Pass at 11,700 feet. My transmission temps went to 218 at the highest point. At 45/50 mph that is where the temps stay, but as soon I get over 55 mph the temps start falling and will drop to the 180 range.
I tow a 35 trailer that is close to 9000 lbs. I have considered adding an electric fan to the front that I can use when I am driving in the city or pulling uphill. I have found even in 95 temperatures driving 65 the temps will stay in the 180 range on normal roads with the 6.0 cooler.
