here i am again!hard start when hot,not wait to start indicator?

ok,so with all of you're help i diagnosed and changed out my lift pump, fuel line and checked for air intrusion.
she starts beautifully in the morning and even after a long sit, like an hour or so,but when i have to run to the supply yard, and i shut her off for 15 or twenty minutes i get no wait to start or glow plug driver clicking noise.
she is a 93 van,and if i open the hood and the dog house for ten or fifteen minutes,i get my wait to start light and she fires right up!
just wondering if there is a heat induced issue with the glow plug driver but would like to be sure before i spend a bunch of bucks on parts i don't need!
thanks again fellas! you have been a huge help

with a 93, you should only have the glow plugs functioning below around 120 degrees engine temperature.
as for the no start when hot, that sounds like heat soak on a tired injector pump.
how many miles are on the pump?

and by the way ,why would an injector pump cause the glow plug light and or driver not to function?

When the motor is hot it shouldn't need the plugs. I too suspect a tired pump, if you pour some cool water on the pump when it won't start and it starts up after that that pump is tired.

Lol, I suppose I can understand, and from what your saying it sounds like a tired pump anyways, but you could try with warm water i mean a new pump is like $1100.00, and a pita to put in in my humble opinion its worth a shot.

well as i said in my original post, when i have a no start situation i open up the dog house for five or ten minutes and she fires up like a champ, and does so with a wait to strart light and normal cycling of the glow plug driver.
so would opening the hood and dog house, this is an e-350 van, accomplish the same as pouring water on an injector pump??

Not cold water, just cool room temp water, and pour ver slowly to dissipate the heat, not quick to where it would shock it.

It would be similar, though not the same, If you do the water thing as they are saying, it will pinpoint your problem, just put some hose water in an empty coolant jug and carry it, You'll be fine with ambeient temp. water, as long as your temps are alright, if your manifold was cherry red or something, that would be a different story.

This could be a fusable link or a wire even, might aswell narrow the problem rather then being a parts changer lol

I would say injector pump, new ones aer expensive as all get out, a reman'd pump is about 400 bucks where I am at. You could also take your van to a diesel mechanic thats trustworthy and have them maybe rebuild that pump.
