Hello all

I have started my new project, getting a 2002 F-150 XL with a blown rear end back on the road.

I stated disconnecting items from the axle and came to the brake line you see here.

To drop the rear end what is the best way to disconnect the brake line. Up at the single connection at the frame or on the axle tube. If at the axle tube what is the procedure as the block looks crimped to the flex line.

 

I just rebuilt (bearings and seals) mu 9.75 last month UNDER THE TRUCK ! I thought that would be faster. ITs doable, but a lot of work. I used the same gears and LS cluthc, just bearing change out. Had to reshim bearing clearances, but thats it.

 

Steve I am sure the housing is done as it was a very catastrophic failure. That is why I am dropping the entire unit.
