429 vs HD 429 and burnt engine.

How do you tell the difference between a car 429 and a Heavy Duty 429 for a dump truck.

My 89 F-700 with the 429 has a cracked block and I have found a used 429 out of an F-600 that burnt and needs a new carb, distributor and such. He thinks it may have been out of a car originally and converted for the truck, or the transmission was also from the car. I need to know how to tell if it will work for the transmission in my truck and is it worth it. What am I getting with trying to get the burnt one up and going. It is $150, should I go for it and stuff.
