Ya ought to check in here a little more often...the notice has been here since the 23rd of JUNE! They had a LOT of nice old cars and trucks there this week! YOU ( and a lot others) missed it.
It's shame we don't get a little more participation from the Chapter Members!
Hey Bud, good seeing you again. A bunch more cars showed up. Had a good time. Talked to alot of people about the truck. Need to bring CJ over and introduce him to Ann's footlongs.
Charlie
Glad to hear you had a good time....was good for me too. Too bad we didn't have more of a showing from FTE tho....
Let me know when you're coming back and if possible I'll be there. MAYBE even Chuck will remember to show up!
I had this discussion w/ Charlie when he came to get my bed cap, personally for me, I can't see any event that I'm going to drive my POS truck to, it's just a run down, old work truck to me. It's not worth burning $40 in fuel to let everyone look at it and say: 'Yep, that is an old, worn out truck!' I know that there are some guys who absolutely love their trucks and they go to great lengths to keep them looking nice and running good. More power to them, I hope that they get together and enjoy looking at each others trucks. I was into that stuff when I had my old VW's so I completely understand it, it's just that these trucks don't have that same appeal to me.
This is just a thought, but it seems that many or the guys on here use their trucks, maybe we could have a dump run day or something like that? My truck would feel much more at home w/ a bed full of crap, driving across the dirt road to the dump off site than it would in a parking lot. Maybe a member needs to clean out a basement or a garage/shed or yard debris, everyone could show up and take a load to the landfill and then we could all go somewhere to have a lunch. It's just a thought.
It's just kinda cool to put a face to a name every now and then, whether you have a truck or not, I have everything from old wornout, old nice to brand new. I like my old ones the best. To me anything after 79' is a new truck. Last night it was perfect for me, good dinner at a classic hotdog spot, grand total for dinner $4.70. Got to talk to my old friend Bud, Then look at a nice old cars. A gtg doesn't have to cost a fortune or take alot of time. Doesn't really matter who shows up, esp. if you're not putting out any money for it. Still worth the 1 hour ride from Denton for me Bud.
