at work we have a 1993 ford f150 2wd automatic, lately it hasnt been starting unless we push the gas pedal down a little bit, and as soon as you let off it dies, it wont idle at all but by keeping the gas pedal down it will stay running, the truck has a 302 with 277,699 miles on it, does anyone know what could be causing it to not idle or start, we had the fuel pump checked and it is still good.

 

A few things:

Check/replace the TPS, idle air bypass, and also check the canister purge valve as well as where the vacuum lines from the valve connect to the throttle body. If those are good, I'd start looking at the fuel rail for pressure and clogged/not working injectors.

i had a problem like that on my old 1977? k20, despite bein a chevy, its biggest problem was the carb base gasket blew out and it did that, so check the bolts in the upper intake
