46 Ford pickup..chassis change
Has anyone ever changed out the old chassis for a new model ford ranger if so what years will work? I would like to find a chassis that already has everything PB PS AC 4x4 maybe, want to take body parts off and install them on a newer frame, any help in this matter would be great, thanks

Welcome to FTE ! Some have done this but it is a lot of work. One can get the cab set with a little work. The front clip is completely supported by the radiator support. So constructing something to replace this, or trying to use the existing support is all based on measurements so that things bolt back together when you are done.
It is not an easy job and things you would like to keep (AC, etc.) may not fit (i.e. putting a 36" wide radiator in a 24" wide space). Spend some time looking a how the '46 is put together and then what a ranger frame provides. Also measure wheelbase, as I've seen a couple of these done which look really bad because the wheels don't line up properly inside the fenders.
But, you can do anything with enough time, skill and $$$

thanks for replying back, I have been doing alot of research on this matter and reading alot up on all the mods that will have to be done. I had a 1956 Ford truck I did once all original then when the 300 blew, I replaced it with a 302 c4. I know now thats what I will do here I am going to keep the ladder chassis. I am going to build with it, found disc brakes conversion kits. I just thought it would be kool to just put an older body on a newer chassis. But I did talk to someone here that also bought a 1984 F-100 that had everything in it and took from it and added on to a 1948, and his truck looks great and rides good too, the funny thing the ac was very cold, i ask him I dont see any vents? He said with this little cab you just dont need it..haha..i like the front of your truck the flames are badazz
