howdy everyone new member to fte im coming over from the ranger station since i no longer have a ranger and iv since upgraded to a 03 250 Sd with the 5.4 just got it a few weeks ago and still working out the bugs since it is used there is a few, one of them is when your running the ac and get into the gas it switches over to defrost which would indicate a vac leak but when you let off the gas it switches back to normal as long as your not hard on the gas it will stay normal also acts the same when the 4x4 switch is turnd to 4wd it will switch back and fourth the auto hubs dont work either not sure if i have full on vac leak or something else since it switches back and fourth from defrost to vents any thoughts on the subject would be much obliged

 

I would say yes, you have a vacuum leak. I found mine by slightly pressurizing the vacuum lines going to the auto hubs. It is much easier to find a pressure leak than a vacuum leak.
