5.8L valve cover removal

My f150 recently began making rattle noise like a rocker had come loose. We're attempting to remove the driver side valve cover first to check those to avoid removing the upper intake if we can avoid it.

We've got 5 of 6 bolts off. We're having issues with the bolt near the firewall. It seems that it is a stud type bolt holding on the injector wiring rail and there is a little round retainer clip on it that will not come off.

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to get this off? I've tried using a pair of dykes and a pair of pliers with no such luck.

Thanks in advance.

I used needle nose pliers on my '95 engine to get them off. The '92 5.8 I just put in had actual nuts holding the harness down, MUCH easier to R&R! Those 1 time clips suck.
