04 6.0 Fuse 116 Ignition Module - shorting???
Hi All,
I've been looking high and low for answers to this issue. I see solutions posted for 7.3 but not 6.0. Hope you can help. Truck is at repair shop now and they are at loss to.
I was driving along fine without any issue, all of a sudden the power died (engine, power brakes, power steering, dash guages) but stereo and windows worked. I coasted to a stop. I looked and found fuse 116 (Ignition module) blown. It's a 30 amp fuse. Replaced it, tried to start the truck but fuse blew immediately again. I tried two more times but same results.
Proposed fix for 7.3 is to remove the power to the fuel heater. However, 6.0 and 7.3 fuel filter/heater looks different based on schemas. I assume this is because they moved it to the framerail fuel filter (from top of engine)?
Any insight you have would be greatly appreciated.
