Dakota speed sensor for 1951 Ford F1
Thank you all that helped with my questions for temp and oil sensors with Dakota gauge.
Seems I have a question regarding speed sensor. Dakota gauge came with a sensor and adapter. Not sure if I need adapter. I have included picture of my sensor port on tranny and fittings provided by Dakota. Should I undo the fitting on my transmission and put both Dakota pieces together and into tranny. Or just screw the fitting that has connection for wires into tranny. No explanation as to why I would use adaptor.

Are you running a non electronic engine?

Will your sensor (the part on the left) fit onto the threaded stub on the transmission? The part on the right is typically found on the end of the speedo cable that fits a C4, C6, etc. The driven gear fits onto the end of the adapter and then goes into the transmission. I don't believe it will fit in the old truck trans. If the sensor fits on the trans, as is, that should be all you need.
