Engine vibration starting at 1,500 rpm and ceasing at 2,300. Ideas?

At idle it's minor, at speed it's very noticeable. Also, t start up my FMP on SGII is between 39-43, then after it the truck warms a bit, it settles between 47.5-49.0.

Any help is much appreciated. 2005 6.0L stock engine/tune/exhaust.

Thanks,
Matt

Thats what I figured. I won't drive it until I do. What was the name of the company that you ship your fcim to? I'm not popping any codes on SGII, shouldn't I be?

I had same symptoms, ended up with broken injector bolt in the oil pickup tube. I drove it too long probably after the vibrations started.

I just dealt with Ed and he is great. He did mention something very interesting about the underpowered alternator. He suggested a good 140A or greater.

Just throw a volt meter across the alternator to check? Or is one of the gauges on SGII sufficient?

What's the best way to determine if a fuel injector is failing/sticking if it's not popping a code?

Cheezit, would you work for pizza and beer to come up to the Falls to help fix my truck? Kidding. What dealership are you at, if you can say?

Please take a look at this video and let me know your thoughts. Definitely appears to be FICM.

Thanks,
Matt

Oh ya the FICM needs work

Your Alternator Looks Weak or a Bad Battery is dragging it down

Mine Volt readings will jump to 14.0-14.3volt when the GP turn off and when done charging settle to 13.6-13.8volt

Have batterys Load Tested I would bench test alternator too

Im thinking your Batterys or alternator are getting weak and caused stress to the FICM what KILLED the FICM

any battery light flicker on the Dash???

I wouldnt worrey about injectors yet

you cant Diagnos a BAD Inject with a Bad FICM I mean the result maybe Skewed or Biased because the inject controller is Bad

Im NOT saying that you DONT have a BAD Injector

Im just saying that since the FICM isnt up to Par that the FICM could be Messing with an Injector operation

Just a Chain of Events one thing Fails and could Screw things up Down the Line and may or maynot Kill other parts down the Line

In this chain of events the FICM comes First so I would address it First and the injectors may start to operate Normal or if they to far gone you might need an NEW Injector

Ah, got it. I did not realize a bad FICM could potentially cause the engine roughness. Thanks do much for your help, already in email contact with Ed, and will be removing the FICM today. I'm going to get a battery minder, and test/charge the batteries, or buy new ones, and test the alternator.

Thanks again. Will post results.

Matt
