2001 F250 crew, looking for gooseneck

i'm very disappointed with all of the semi-rude comments from this forum's members. The trailer IS 4148lbs. So take your nonsense trolling somewhere else. Of course a deisel is going to pull the trailer better but that was not in any way or at any point a part of my posts. Now that my original question no longer has an affect on my stance about buying a trailer, we can stop bashing my 5.4L gas truck. Thank you for your guys' responses to those of you that actually commented with helpful information, or in a helpful manner.
And who was bashing your 5.4?? Look at my sig, I own and tow w/ a 5.4, it's a great engine, that's what everyone said. In my case, the caveat was towing a lot of weight up and down mountains all day, IMO that wouldn't be fun w/ a 5.4. On flatter ground a 5.4 will do you just fine at the weights you're towing.
Stick around, it's a great forum and you can learn a lot here. And good luck in med school! It would be nice to find a doc that wouldn't tell me to quit riding when I get pitched.

I certainly didn't mean any offense either. As I said, I was picturing something different in terms of trailers, and I also said the 5.4 should be plenty for the weight you're talking about. My comments about moving up to an F350 were based on my own estimates of towing 12K - 15K. I pulled as much with F250's w/ 5.4's, 6.8's and 6.0 diesels, and finally with my current F350 drw, and though they all worked well enough, the F350 drw is so much more solid and safer feeling with those larger loads that I'll never hesitate to say it's the way to go if you're towing big and often.
Good luck with the new trailer.
Good luck with the new trailer.
