And unless the engine was built and tuned to use that grade of fuel, it's a complete waste of time running it. It's harder to ignite than lower octane fuels

Hey guys, IV been finding alot of good starting project bumbs around my area
The thing is the majority of them have a 300 inline and 4 speed??
Last time I'm going to ask, a 390 or 460 will bolt right onto the transmission right?

no it will not "bolt right in"
It'll require a bellhousing at the very least.
The 390 should be able to use the engine perches, but the 460 will not.

and neither a 390 or a 460 will bolt up to the 300 bellhousing.

I am looking to do the same thing. I am inheiriting my Fathers 76 4x, My step-Mother put a New/Rebuilt 390 in it and it has about 100 miles on it. So now I need to find an 4 bbl Intake and probably recam it, some headers and a new ignition. I would LOVE to get some 428 heads and even more, a 428 crank. Ford Motor Sports makes all the stuff, but WAY expensive! ( Heads and crank.)
Besides Ford motor sports, where is a good place to get an intake? I can get coils and upgrade for the distributor anywhere, its the intake and headers and maybe heads that are tough... I may just have the stock heads ported but have to get an intake first.
