47 running boards
I got my 47 Merc running boards from George Moir Antique parts in Stony Plain Alberta $400.00

1947 filter system
how does return oil get back to engine thru bottom tube Blew out lines but oil comes out top of oil canister. Is there a outlet on cnter tube I am missing .

one oil,line comes from back of motor on top.other goes into block under rear of exhaust manifold. but my 47 has a 53 motor.so might be different,

thanks ,I found return hole near top of interior tube but can not find 8 inch filter on line?

42 has a chrome Ford script on the hood side and after that it was embossed into the metal. Not sure on the 43-45 army trucks.

on flathead startup after 35 yrs , why do I have exhaust fumes coming from muffler and oil breather tube which is beside fuel pump? flathead sounds good .

35 yrs
after 35 yrs of sitting, its allowed to smoke everywhere. mine sat for about same time, smoked for few tanks of gas on start up.rings stick. valves stick. make sure you use a non detergent 30 oil or better yet 15-40
