Summit Flowtech Headers

So I have a 72 2wd F100 with a FE 360 in it. When I entered into Summit that I had a FE 360 and it was in a F100 the only options were the 75, 76 F100's and it led me to these headers. I'm assuming that they will still fit but I'd really appreciate it if anyone can just confirm it for me.

If you go to the application tab of the site it has the following info:

Make FORD
Model F-100 PICKUP
Submodel BASE
Beginning Year 1968
Ending Year 1974
Engine Swap No
Engine Type V8
Liter 5.9
CID 360
CC 5899
Engine Size 5.9L/360
Engine Family Ford big block FE
Drivetrain RWD
Power Steering Yes
Power Brakes (application) Yes
Air Conditioning Yes
Standard Transmission Column Shift Yes
Standard Transmission Floor Shift Yes
Automatic Transmission Column Shift Yes
Automatic Transmission Floor Shift No
Footnotes 3 - Must modify stock exhaust to retain catalytic converters.
29 - Will not fit 1968-72 w/Camper Special gas tanks.

According to this summit says it should fit unless you have the factory aux gas tank.

They may or may not touch the frame on the passenger side it will be close.
You will also have starter clearance issues.

I don't understand footnote 3. I don't know of any bumpsides with catalytic converters

I will have to find the link but there is a company that sells polished STAINLESS STEEL headers for these truck for $199. My friend just bought some and they are very good quality with THICK flanges. I would spend the extra 60 bucks if I were you.

I have these on my 68 390 automatic 2wd , they fit but i had to get creative on the exhaust to collector. as the collector pointed right at the shift linkage on the c6 .

I've got an older set of these (~2001) that are still "new" in box. There's an insert that states the shift lever on a C6 has to be modified to clear, and shows a ~30* bend on the shift lever. Not exactly something that looks enticing to me.......

So why do those SS ones he posted not work for FE? They look pretty good, especially for the money. I also have the 360, so really following suggestions here.

Pretty sweet! Do they fit 2wd/4wd, or can they be used on most any FE powered truck?
Curious as to how pricey they are, as well......

They're tight-tuck headers for 53 and up Ford trucks equipped with an FE. It'll fit 2WD and 4WD alike and ya don't have to jack up the engine to install them.

$345 for plain steel or ceramic coated for <gulp> $515. I chose the latter.

The Sanderson FF427 header set is designed to fit 1953-Up Ford F100 pickups using the Ford 332-428 FE engines.

Nice! That's the closest thing to what I call "well built headers*" that I have ever seen for these trucks. I will certainly have to keep them in mind, as they are about the only type I'd consider for an on-road use vehicle. Off-road use vehicles can have run of the mill headers, so long as they are designed with decent flow in mind.

* Well built is kind of skewed for me. I have a header on my RX7, and it's made with 7/16" flanges, and .125 (1/8") thick wall pipe. As if that wasn't overkill enough, they then ceramic coated it. It's 10 years old, and aside from a few small spots where the coating has finally burned off, allowing for a bit of surface rust, and some minor discoloring thru out the rest of the coating, it still looks almost as good as new. Granted, $280 for a new one is rather pricey, considering it only has 2 ports and pipes, but it's an investment that will last a good many years......

Quick Reply: Can someone confirm that these headers will fit before I spend my $$$???
