I didn't see any pics in this thread of the 4wd and how the E-Locker works. I, too was curious. My dad recently got a 2012 F250 XLT. It has the manual 4wd and E-Locker.
Notice in this pic, you can barely see the floor shift 4wd lever. It's the same 4x4 lever they've used for several years.
You will also notice a ****, behind the shifter. It looks identical to the ESOF shift **** but it solely controls the ELD. If you look closely, you can see the icon illuminated in the instrument cluster.
*Here is the shifting pattern. It's identical to my '09 F250.
This is the "plain" dash.
The 4x4 icon lights up when the transfer case is engaged. What I didn't have engaged was the locking differential. I illuminates an orange icon above the gear numbers.
Finally, the hubs are manual locking hubs, again, like the previous trucks used since 2005 (i think).
Here's a pic of the manual hub.
And just for fun, here's a pic of the auto hub
Hope this helps.
Pics are always cool.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Seems like the local dealers here are the same way. They know nothing. I went to the dealer a few moths ago to get trans fluid for my manual transmission. The parts guy tried to sell me 12 quarts. Like its an Automatic.
I hate to say this but iv got a VW also and every time I have ever needed parts or compatent service, the VW dealer was spot on. They actually know what you are talking about 90% of the time.
I don't know about anywhere else, but here in the Louisville area, the Ford dealers are sub par with others iv seen. It's a shame.
