Replacing the rear window on a 2005 Explorer
Hello to All,
I'm new to the forum however I have always sworn by Ford Trucks but anyway on to the reason for this post.
My rear window was shattered this weekend and I am looking to replace the window. Problem is I cannot find any instructions on how to do so. Can anyone point me in the right direction or forward me some info on how to do so? Also if you have a link on where to purchase the glass that would be helpful as well. Thanks again!!!

Am I correct that your '05 (as my '98) is just glass back there?
If so, the new glass is simply fitted to the hinges and latch and away you go.
My hinges have worked loose both where they attach to the gate and the glass. I drilled one all the way through and used a nut and bolt. I am about to do the same on the glass side. Hinges from Ford are $50+ per side.
Check the actual hinge pins as well.
For glass, google "missouri auto glass" and you'll be days going through all the links. Or you can call your friendly Ford dealer.
You might find one in a junk yard, but time is money imo.....
