Yes, I forgot to mention that part didn't I, there's a guy that has the whole set up I'll need and he fabricated a bracket and welded it on, he said it was fairly simple, I just didn't wanta do it that way, but it'll all work out, thanks for your input man, I was already told it wouldn't work the way I wanted, but I just had to get at one more opinion on it.

Now you are just down to figuring out the drive shaft. The T85 I have uses the large yoke 1.680" OD approx. I don't know if all T85's had that or the more standard 1.5"

Yes, But first I still want a 3 speed with OD that will work with my bell housing, and I just read about a T86 G or H that was in Fords from 58 to 64 so I'm going to do some more searching to see if I can find one of these.

If you can find a truck trans with OD thats the easiest way to do it.

If you want to use your 4 speed bell, You could install a 5 speed OD. They came in some trucks (larger trucks f600 etc) I believe they were Clark 5 speeds but I have been wrong in the past. BTW I have one of these transmissions here already out

I thought about using a Clark 5 speed with OD, but the two I have are just Reg. standards, one out of my Mercury 700 and one outta my F600, and I have 3 T98s. I'm still thinking of putting one of the Clarks in my Mercury 350 flat deck, but a Clack with OD might not be a bad idea too, at this point though I've decided that the T85 with OD is what's going in my 59 Mercury 100. I've met a guy that has a bell housing and tranny, I'll have to do a bit of fabricating for a trans mount, and get a driveshaft made, but I think it'll work out just fine. but we could talk about your OD Clark. send me a message,
thanks,
Mercury59
