Checking into a tuner for my F350 and just wanted to get anyone's thoughts on which one. If anyone has any info that would be great.

2001 F350 6.8l V10 single Lariat

 

5 star tuning with the SCT X3. Read through the sticky at the top of the page that says mike/5 star

 

+2 on 5 Star. Not only did the tuner make a night and day difference, but Mike's customer service is second to none. He is 3 time zones ahead of me and still answered emails almost immediately. I am very happy with his service.

 

Thanks guys Ill look into it...you guys have it on the 6.8 gas v10? Would you mind telling me any other "must haves" for this particular truck?

 

Yes, mine is 1999 6.8l 5 speed manual. I replaced my ball joints and shocks shortly after I bought the truck. Made it much nicer to drive.

 

The tuner is about the only thing that really is a must have for performance.

 

yea regearing, or a tuner from 5-star are about the only upgrades that will actualy make a difference to your truck..

 

Don't waste your money on a cold air intake or throttle body. A better idea with spending the money after a regear or 5 star tune is looks or maybe a tranny shift kit

Another vote for the 5 Star from Mike.

But I think you have the 4R100 trans, do your truck a huge favor and get the 6.0 trans cooler for it if you tow or carry anything with weight.

 

$800ish per axle.

I see this 5 star tune postings, Haven't seen many on a 2009-2010 , What are general cost? This is my first gas engine in a long time. Been rolling the 7.3 with PHP tunes.
Would only want tunes for towing/ economy.

 

About $400 for the SCT 3. Comes with 3 customer tunes.
