headers vs manifolds on a 1999 5.4

i was thinking about getting a set of headers to replace the small manifolds on my 5.4 but a fried told me not to cause it will cause my heads to warp. any thought on that??????????

Header won't do anything to the heads.
They are a lot more flexiable than Cast Iron.
For truck application and normal use , headers won't do much for you.
People keep trying to put HP and race parts on a truck motor that don't do anything to help power under regular use.
You will have the hassle of hooking up the EGR tube as well, on the drivers side.
Possibility of breaking studs off.

im not looking for power right now but i keep warping my manifolds. i hd the same problem in my bronco and went with a set of summit headers but that engine is all iron not aluminum like my 5.4 is i ask a ford mechanic about it he said they would warp my heads after about 200 miles or so

No they will not warp your heads. Warped heads only happens if you overheat the engine.

thats what i figured just wanted to know if anyone has had it happen to them. any suggestions on a good brand

Obviously you get what you pay for JBA is a good choice, but they are a bit more expensive than most other choices. I would use them if I needed to replace manifolds anyway. Otherwise its kinda hard to justify, since the gains aren't that significant.

We carry the stock replacement manifolds with a warranty if you would like to replace it with a stock typs part. Here's a link to them on out website.
