Rebuilt Torque Converter or a New one?

Im here to ask of your opinions and experiences about torque converters. I had my C6 rebuilt with a mild shift kit and had the torque converter rebuilt to match the cam, 2200 stall. I have heard to not use the rebuilt converter and to buy a new one. What are your thoughts and what brand is a good product to buy.

I have never bought a new converter for this transmission or just about any other transmission for that matter. The only one that I buy new when I have too is one for the Cadillac Northstar tranny just because aftermarket parts are not always available.

You wont have any problem with a rebuilt converter, but I would use someone who is reputable like Transtar or TCI.

Your old TC from your fried tranny: NO.

A used TC from an unknown tranny: NO.

A used TC from a known good tranny: Uhh, ok.

A rebuilt TC from a reputable source: Yes.
