Last year I purchased a 2012 F550. Love the truck. There happens to be one thing that keeps bothering me more and more. There is no storage on the inside of the driver and passenger doors. I also have a 2007 F550 XLT, which has storage on the doors.

Did they do away with this? Or is it because the truck is a XL edition.

Is there any possible aftermarket options?

No pockets in the XL trucks for as long as I can remember....

Best bet is to find an XLT etc at a salvage yard and swap door panels.
I am not aware of any aftermarket products but it would be cool if someone came up with something...

 

I think JC whitney (auto anything) has some add on storage bins.

 

On the 250, 350, 450 you get an upgraded door panel on the XL if you have the power equipment group (power windows, door locks). Not sure about the 550 or if it is the same door panel as on the XLT.

 

The problem with switching from XL to XLT door panels is that there is not sufficient room for the manual window arm to turn.

I never even thought of that when buying the truck. Now I know. Hopefully i can find something.

 

I've seen units like the one below that can be placed in the center floor console.

 

Where you see that?

 

Do a Google search using "universal center console" to see a ton of storage options. I use one in my 2005 F350 XL and it has been great!
