I have a tailgate from an 80-86 that I need to get rid of. I had originally bought the tailgate for the truck I am restoring but the bed was damaged and I am. no longer using the 80-86 bed. Tailgate is in great shape I will link you to my craigslist add so you can see some pictures of it. I am asking 150 obo for it. I know how hard to find they are and I would rather see this one go to someone who can use it rather than have it sit in my barn collecting dust.

1980/86 F100/350: There are two different Styleside tailgates, they do not interchange.

1980/82's use steel hinges (scissors) that are made as part of the R/L latches.

1983/86's use cables, attach to the body, then to the R/L separate latches.

So, you cannot use one tailgate in place of the other.

 

Shipping might be possible but it would probably be pretty spendy. I can measure the tailgate and weigh it for your.

Are you sure the years are right? Both of my 85s have the steel hinge style tailgate unless I'm completely misreading your post.
