I'm in the process of restoring a '66 f100 flareside and I am educating myself as much as possible before I get everything torn apart.

I've done some engine repair before but am self taught, I currently have two 300 6's as I have the flareside and a '66 long bed parts truck.

I know the 300 in my flareside is an '81 built motor as the casting identified it that way.

As far as I can tell the 300 in my '66 parts truck is the original 300 6.

My goal with this restoration is to do most of the work myself as I want to learn everything about the truck and auto work in general.

Do you guys know of some good sources so I can learn about how to rebuild the 300 6?

 

Haynes, and Chilton's make repair manuals with information on rebuilding an engine. There might be some threads in this forum too, I have not done a search but you can try that also.
