Ford Reveals 2013 F-150

I thought newer F150's would be far lighter due to thinner sheet metal and other improvements. When I close the door on my 2012 F-150, the doors shake, leading me to believe the sheet metal is thin. My old man's F-250 from the 1980's didn't do that.
I was just thinking.. if we could live with 140 hp 351 CID V8 from the 1980s which has the same power compared to today's 2.0 litre TDI... although the TDI has slightly less torque... and with the mistaken belief today's F-150s were much lighter, I thought that would work.
Ah, my bad.

I am not anti or opposed to diesel technology at all. I personally think it's a responsible way to go IF, it can be made affordable to buy, operate and repair.
Right now the ecoboost is doing everything that a small diesel would do but cheaper. I don't know if the 3.5L will last as long as a small diesel but I'll wager that it'll go 200K miles and that's good enough for me.

I love the new F-150 Look. I hated the feminine 97 - 08 look so bad that I wouldn't have ever even considered buying one until they redesigned it in 09. Now I love the more square front end on the 09 - current 150. It's a perfect mix between the super-duty and the girly looking 97 - 08 F-150's.
