Crappy mileage? Top 10 list of things to check
Just wrapped up a trip from Buffalo to Albany and back and noticed the fuel mileage had dropped significantly, so I started checking and discovered that one of my rear brake calipers was dragging and one of my 4x4 hubs was stuck "engaged". Fixed both and the mileage immediately returned to normal.
So it got me wondering, maybe we should make a list of "top things to check" that negatively affect fuel efficiency.
What are your suggestions for the list?

Yeah I started a thread like this a few months ago cause I found one rear and one front caliper seized closed. My mileage was crap but now I know why. Had to change pad, rotors, and calipers. Mine probably was from sitting a lot because I only drive it usually towing or hauling. Things get stiff when there sitting I guess. Glad u found the problem.

Crawl under the truck, follow the exhaust back from the rear, if you see two large cylindrical apparatus' 12-16" in diameter, you're getting crappy mileage.
