Will radiator for auto. tranny work for a man.

I've got a 84 F150, 4.9 I6/3sp man. Will a radiator for a automatic work with my 3 spd? I figure so, but wanted to make sure.
And if so, what do I use to seal the threads when I cap the 2 holes in the side of the radiator?

My 86 300/man. has a radiator with two capped plugs on it. Might have been swapped from auto car, I have no knowledge of that.

But, I just looked at parts for my truck and it seems the companies making them are selling the same unit for either trans. Whoever sells it to you should have some caps in stock, correct size. Just bolt onto radiator like a line, but has no outlet.

Actually, if it's a brand like Behr or Motorcraft, it may well come with the plugs already, and you just take them off if needed.

Forgot to mention size difference. I think there are different rad sizes, going from 6 to 8 to diesel primarily. May affect your hose position if you go up. Probably bad idea to go down in size haha.

The cooler in the trans if not under any pressure. So if you want to just use plastic caps to keep out the mud wasps it would be ok.

Like Dave said, most radiators are coming through with the trans cooler installed - cuts down on inventory.

I used 1/4" brass pipe plugs for mine when I switched to manual.
