Oh yea you have one of THOSE trucks lol. You know you can get a plastic tank to put between the rails.

Sorry you can't just get a 77.5-79 reg tank and swap it cause your highboy has a narrower rear frame rail section.

Rich, that never occurred to me, then I'd have room for subwoofers behind the seat.

Well "Boom Boom Boom" ya, hit it G. Like I said as far as I know there are no steel replacement tanks that are factory made to go there, and a reg 77.5 -79 are to wide.

I have read and seen on here a fuel cell like optional tank, for some reason the 73-77 rear frame is narrow than the later rigs?

My first Ford truck was a 67 with a cab tank than I got a 73 with it behind the rear axle but the filler cap was exposed.

Mine has the indent in the bedside for the filler and I'm leaving that one as is. i like that it looks odd having a stamping for a gas neck.
