Craig great idea I will have to use one of those on my mom's Expedition since the brakes our out at least we would be able to stop and it is probably cheaper then the actual brakes.
Hey Craig how did you get your status bar (where it says posting guru and such) to say what you have said I would love to change mine.

I got some love from Fed Ex today... My new 4 inch turbo back exhaust! I am tempted to put it in right now, but I think I will "borrow" a lift from my Mechanic and put it in there rather then screw around by my self for way too long. I have a feeling the down pipe is the worst part of it.
I am tempted to wait till I have the stuff to do the up pipes at the same time I have a feeling it would be easier with the down pipe out.

Hey Trav I just changed it in my profile. I'm not sure if that feature is only for paying supporters as Bill, Gerry & I are or if anyone can change it. Maybe Bill or Gerry can help out on your question.
My wife drove one of the school districts Excursion 4x4 7.3 diesels today. Said it had plenty of power but was not a very good handling in the curves. She drove 104 miles round trip of windy, up & down road of Hwy 120 between Lee Vining CA to Benton CA.
They have 200,000 miles on them. I hang out at the Districts garage & know the mechanic he said they have had zero issues with them.
Would someone set me straight please. I thought I heard the weak point was cams about 250,000 miles is that correct for the 7.3L diesel?

Good Evening Gerry & Bill.
About time you guys got up. The day is about over. Hey go over to the In Yuma thread & welcome that person to our Chapter. I'm not sure about the bad mouthing of Yuma but maybe we can win him over. Another former Aircraft mechanic. Looks like Jets insead of Heli's. So if any of us buy a Jet or Heli we have the fixing covered.

Howdy guys. Well yesterday I found out how rusty I am on driving standard. I drove the B2 by myself and kept stalling it until I got on the road then I was fine. I need to get use to it again. I haven't driven standard in a year now and that was on a running perfect Jeep. I only drove it with my brother to my neighbors house. I still love driving standard alot more then automatic though. Maybe when I get the speedo fixed my dad will let me drive it on the highway. Anyways I think today we are going to work on the roof after school again I don't know yet.

Hey Bill, are there any honest, good mechanics in Tucson?
I have a customer down there who keeps getting screwed royally. She can't always make it up here and needs someone down there to work on her truck when I can't.
it is a gas chevy 1500.
her last time was a input pinion seal for only $1,800.00. before that was a tune up for almost $900.00

The forward tilt hood on Bill's truck is something to draw more attention to the truck. It does serve a purpose though. The hinges are so bad on the 61-66 trucks that they always jump up above the cowl after you close the hood, then you have to go around and push the back edge back down to make it match the cowl. This eliminates that problem. The aftermarket hinges tend to last for a little while but then they start doing the same thing again.
I'm not doing this for the 89 Ford but not to say that it won't happen. The 67-72 is the project that I am working on right now. I have the prototype done, I just need to get the final design done and get that to the laser cutter.
