I'm running the Rancho RS5000s on my lifted f250 right now. I like the way it rides, and they put up with a lot of abuse. I've never used skyjacker shocks for a comparison though.

Compared to the stock shocks, they are a little bit softer, which is nice with the 1 ton suspension I have. Offroad they perform pretty well. They don't let it bounce around too much, even if you get 5 feet of air

If your gonna be putting a lift in in a year, more than likely since your going to 35's, you will need to get new shocks for the lift because ones for stock ride height will be too short. Not sure if its worth doing twice in a year...

I have been running RS5000 shocks on my 77 F250 highboy 4x4 for almost 25 years, and have never had an issue w/them.

Rancho shocks are made by Monroe. I don't know who makes Skyjackers.
