This is not all the scan gauge can read, just what I can think of now.
Well after reading over their web site a few times it seems as if the app should be able to do almost everything the scan gauge can do. I downloaded their Revlite program and have been messing with it quite a bit. Itching to get it hooked up to the truck and actually see what it is really capable of.

Can you please elaborate on this a bit more???? What are PIDS? And what is their purpose. Mind sharing what all Torque is capable of? I remember you saying your wifi module was not transferring quick enough for real time data logging. I went and bought that 150 dollar module and from what I have seen it transfers just fine so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah as time goes on I will continue to post up what I learn and what is useful with the system. I already have a bunch of buddies with newer trucks asking to bring it over to give it a shot. I noticed there were a few threads over in the newer SD forums about it. Might try posting in there and see what I can find out before it gets here.

I have a long drive to the track Thursday night that exists out in the middle of no where. Hopefully the WIFI unit shows up before then and I'll fiddle with it on the way out and see what I can actually monitor. Be nice to see my boost pressure to finally troubleshoot if I'm having boost issues rather than a HPOP issue.

PID's are the gauges/read outs from your sensors. Such as your ICP, IPR, RPM ect. feedback. In torque you have the capability of adding the path information an individual PID. Then the software knows where to go look for it where it previously did not. The cool thing is the developer has now added the extended PID's for many vehicles that people have found and made work.

The extended PID's are just ones that go beyond your basic rpm mph coolant temp and such for a particular vehicle. On the REV site I don't see any info on this but it very well may have the capability.

Well my stuff is going to be here tonight and man am I glad I read the reviews about REV.... Guess the originators fell off the planet... never updated the app and when the Iphone's new operating system came out it ceased to work... I'm glad I read into it.

Anyways there is another company out there called Dash Command that is backed by a performance engineering firm and actually developes a lot of scan tooling and codecs for windows as well.

Home - Palmer Performance Engineering, Inc.

Anyone have any experience with them. I almost punched a hole through my screen at work when I found out the other system was a flop.... but this one seems much better and looks to have continued support.

That makes three of us. I would love to have a "universal" scan tool that would read a bunch of stuff and if this works, it would be a really inexpensive way to go.

Well I'll let you all know as it comes along. Considering they make programs specifically for this I'd suspect their software is pretty legit.

Well I downloaded the app and am finally playing around with it and holy hell at first this thing is way over my head... It's starting to all make sense but talk about some serious detail that goes into their pid parameters and calculations to result with actual gauge readings. I'm still filling in info for the truck and tonight I'll finally hook the thing up and see what I can start playing with.

Any of you know what the frontal area on our trucks is? Or the drag coefficient? Could not find that stuff yet and also was wondering what a standard cab long bed 4x4 7.3 curb weight is filled with fluids and fuel.

I will keep posting up as it comes. Hope to start playing with the readings

6000 on the weight. coefficient I wouldn't worry about. Its just to calculate some hp and stuff.

Bill97 is starting off with a positive reputation.
The scales at the dump weighed me in 6600 pounds a few months back. But then again I could have had a passenger and a few bowling ***** in there! Regardless I wanted to post and subscribe to the thread. Interested to see what you find out.

Yeah I put about 6600 due to the both aftermarket bumpers weight and full bed head rack.

I figured if I have parameters might as well set them right.

Anyways I plan playing with it for a while before I leave the parking lot here at work. Will fiddle as much as I can with it before the misses get home. Heck I joined the forum for the software to start learning as much as I can.
