What have I just done ?

What have I gotten myself into? I just bought a 1949 Ford F3 in fairly good shape. I will bring it home Saturday and will have a chance to give it a very good look over. The body has a lot of surface rust and the fenders have some small rust holds. The cab and doors looks to be in very good shape. The bed is a mess. With a little motor works and new brakes it should be a good driver.

I have a 1949 Ford F1 as a parts truck. Is there anything on the F1 that can be used on this F3 ?

If I order body parts like bumpers and fender brackets for an F2, will they work on an F3 ? <O</O

You have just committed yourself to a life of poverty . I believe almost all f2 & f3 parts interchange . The f3s have 17" wheels , probably the widowmakers which you will have to deal with at some point . Lots of information about them on the forum . Good luck and welcome to the madhouse .

Famous last words... All cab parts, grill, hood, core support, upper and lower valence are all the same on 48 to 50 with small variations.

Welcome tobbyt . You have gotten yourself into years of fun and recreation , maybe a few busted knuckles and an excellent way to get rid of some disposable income . For the most part you should have many useable pieces off that F1 . Wheel opening size is different and obviously the box dimensions . Almost anything from an F2 will work on an F3 but you will have 14 inch rear drums ,they are pretty scarce .Lots more information on here just ask . Send pictures when you have them we like pictures .
