Just a heads up for my fellow FTE'S. Shut off the 2011 6.7 XLT and about 15 or 20 seconds later heard some clicking and then a loud humming/buzzing coming from engine compartment and it would last for approximately 1 minute. Had to take her in for the NOX sensor recall and an oil change anyway. Advisor called me back and said that the "waste gate solenoid valve" needed replacing. Only 400 miles until bumper to bumper expires. Did not ask if this would have been covered under warranty after 36,000. However, no waste gate solenoid is available and waiting for one to arrive. Tech said it was ok to continue driving in any manner. Good thing since I hook up the 5er tomorrow and headed to Durhamtown for Memorial weekend four wheelin and dirtbiking. Everyone have a great weekend and be safe!!!!
I had a similar situation with my 6.0 with another part. Since it was in their system before the expiration it was no problem. Would think that would apply here as well.
Mine has been doing that for a long time (a year maybe??) and I have not noticed any ill effects. I am not sure if I will even get it fixed......
And I like the "what the hell is that" I get from people. I would not worry about it.
I still make 35 - 36 PSI boost!!!!

Mine has also done this for over a year. I have had no problems though, I just haven't fixed it yet. Probably should though!
Same noise here, too.
I always noticed it was from the turbo area so this makes sense.
I'll mention this when I take mine in for the NOx sensor recall.
