Lower stall converter 1st impressions

After what seems like ages, I got my rebuilt trans in the truck, and everything ready to go. Took it out for about a 10 mile drive, and was very impressed. Truck accelerates effortlessly, each shift is crisp and has a noticable drop in rpm each time, and lockup is very quick and smooth. I didn't get on it too hard, since it's a fresh build and I have the coolers bypassed for a few days until Im able to get everything flushed good. With the stock converter, this thing would burn the tires from a stop. Now, it absolutely will not spin them unless brakes and tons of throttle are applied. Should help with starts on wet or snowy roads. All in all, Im very pleased with it. Cant wait until Im able to tow something with it.

BTW, the converter is from Midwest Performance, has a forged cover, 2 disk lockup clutch(overkill IMHO, but thats how it comes), and is approximately 400 rpm tighter than a stock one. It is designed for the PSD, but works very well for me. Glad I spent the $500 for this one, compared to $225 for a stocker.
