Just got myself an STX
I just picked up a good used 2007 F-150 Super cab STX in 2WD. It is pictured in my avatar. 1 owner, 4.6L V-8, auto trans, 44,785 miles. Clean truck, nothing fancy, cloth seats, no power windows or locks. Has 6-CD changer. I was a bit surprised at the get-up-and-go of this truck! I think I am really going to enjoy it. My wife is not a truck gal, but she took it to the grocery store and said that she really liked the way it drove, and felt comfortable in it. I have owned 3 other Ford trucks in the past(1970 F-100 Regular Cab Ranger XLT 2WD; 1989 F-150 XLT Regular Cab 4WD; and 2007 F-250 SD Crew Long Bed 4WD), but she did not like any of the 3. But she does like the STX. Maybe you all can help me out with a few questions:
1) Does the 4.6L V-8 Triton have the 2 piece spark plugs like the 5.4L has?
2) Has the 4.6L proven itself to be a good, reliable engine?
3) I don't hot rod, and I don't tow a trailer. Can I really expect 14/city, 19/highway?
I think I was pretty much in the ball park @ $13,995.

Good choice on the STX.
1) No the 4.6 for that year doesn't have 2 piece plugs that the 5.4 had. As long as its not the 3 valve newer version of the 4.6 you shouldn't have a problem getting the plugs out.
2) The 4.6 will last you a long time. Just keep the oil changed and you should get around 150,000-200,000 miles.
3)Yeah for the 2wd you can expect that mileage.
