An FYI on this screw-type scissor jack I mention from time-to-time and few photos:
Folded/stowed completely down its no more than 4" tall but a full 22" long---it'll fit under a very low jacking point like an axle or steering knuckle even with a flat tire. The base measures 5" x 8", has a bit of articulation to slightly accommodate a slightly sloping surface but I've never tested those limits!
It'll raise something a full 20", still have a bit of stability, enough to mount a flat tire. It seems to take forever raising something but the effort is very easy, most women and strong kid could crank it easily enough. It was never intended to be a service jack and I've never used it for that, more a peace-of-mind thing when on the road.
The business will accommodate a few different tools:
I'm posting this only because that term "screw-type scissor jack" probably conjures up something not quite as usable or as substantial as this one.

When I was in rehab after my accident, I met a guy, a brother paraplegic, he was injured when a dump truck fell off of a jack on him, our life is far from easy, and makes you wish you were dead, so I can say safety first.
I've bought cheap parts, even the store brand stuff, on items that require time to replace, I save up for the name brands, brakes are a no brainer, how much is your life worth.
BTW my E-350 sinks the jack stands into asphalt, I had to knock them out with a pry-bar when done, amazing since it's relatively empty.
