F350 Fuel Tank Thoughts

Just finished extending F350 137 WB to 161WB. I do not like the way stock fuel tank will mount back into place. I am contemplating using space between frame rails and first cross brace for storage under custom made dump box.

Any thoughts on saddle fuel tanks outside frame rail or fabbing tank to sit crosswise between frame right behind cab. I understand need to keep clearance above drive shaft and exhaust..

Thanks for the feed back in advance.

IIRC, the Excursion fuel tank sits between the frame rails, behind the rear axle.

Thanks

A couple questions on the Excurion tank. Can anyone give me the specs/dimensions of the tank? Where can I find them? Are the connections the same as F350 SD?

Sounds like a great option and special thanks to both respondents?

Any other ideas and thoughts out there.
