Correct..no valley pan on the 1240 gasket..the valley pan is for the factory intake only....
look at the pictures I posted above..it shows the silicone bead..I use th Right Stuff..it is sold at AZ and the other stores, maybe not at napa..., it's about 12.00 for a small tube..but it's the best stuff.....you don't need it on the heads, just in the corners where the heads contact the block and i smeared bit up and under the front and rear of the gasket..that's why i use a spray adhesive to hold the gasket while i do all the other stuff..

Ok thanks again haha, I was unsure about that. So now the only thing left is to get the gaskets/silicon and clean everything up then put it on. I still have to clean some of the old gasket crud off the intake before it goes on. Then i still have to find my misplaced carb gasket and bolt kit.... I put it somewhere haha.
