Hello, looking to buy a 48 panel truck
Hi,
New on here, I am Rob from the UK. Just sold our '52 F1 truck when we imported some 12 years ago, and we need a panel truck now for my wife's catering business.
48-52, stock or mild custom but ideally orginal looking - no billet etc. Small blocks ok. Must be painted.
We have up to around the $20k mark to play with and we will be looking to export it fom the US to the UK.
Can anyone help?
I also have a '53 Chevrolet BelAir and I used to have a '27 Model Ford roadster until a couple of years ago.
Cheers, Rob.

I know you said stock or mild custom, but I was able to find these on the local Craigslist.

Thanks for looking those up for me. The 50 is on eBay, the truck is for my wife, she said she would look like a postman in that here in the UK, all the vehicles are red. Didn't generally like it. The other one is way too modern looking.
She has seen a black one in LA and that is stock, fresh paint and restored interior, new chrome, looks real nice and that is $20k. Does that sound reasonable?
Thanks again.
By the way, your green panel was what she was after first off, that front end body style as it was like her F1, but they seem to be much rarer than the earlier ones 48-50. Would love to see some pics of yours anyway.

Yes, the 51 and 52 model years had less Panel production than the previous three years, 48-50, with the 52 Panel production seeing the least of all. 1950 saw the highest number of production. Not too many 48s either. 49 and 50 are more common.
Got pictures or a link to the Panel in L.A.? I'd be curious to see it. Depending on how well and correct it was restored, $20k may sound reasonable.
You can see all of the photos of my 52 at this link, 1952 Ford Panel pictures by modelking1 - Photobucket. I'm currently trying to finish an engine rebuild on her.

I can't post pictures on here, if you want to drop me your email address I can send them to you, they are not large files, maybe a dozen or so pictures, but nothing of the underside. I am haing it inspected so they should come with that. It is a really nice looking truck but I am not going to put that amount of money out there that hasn't been inspected first, with better photos, you know?
It has been on ebay a few times but never met it's reserve, went up to around $13.5k....

Welcome to FTE!
You can post pics if they are first uploaded someplace on the Internet, like to a Photobucket account.
Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.
While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg
Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).
When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).
Your pic will be placed in the post.
Hope that helps.

Here are the pictures of Rob's 53 C***y, 51 F1 that he sold (not that it matters now, but it has front hood molding from a 52), and the 48 Panel truck that is a possible purchase. I'll let Rob fill in the details on the Panel truck if he prefers. Anyone else notice that the hood moldings are on the wrong sides (again).
